How to get a cannabis prescription (PT33) in Bangkok
A visitor's legal route from clinic to counter.
To buy cannabis flower, the THC-containing bud, legally in Thailand, you first need a prescription on form PT33 issued by a licensed Thai practitioner. Get a consultation at a Thai clinic, receive your PT33 prescription, which is valid for up to 30 days, then visit a licensed dispensary in person with your prescription and passport. You must be 20 or older, and Thai law prohibits online sales and delivery.
What form PT33 is
As of 2026, cannabis flower in Thailand is classified as a controlled herb. It can only be sold by licensed dispensaries, and only to customers holding a prescription issued by a licensed Thai practitioner. That prescription is written on form PT33 under the Ministry of Public Health's controlled-herb regulations, and it is the document a dispensary must see before dispensing cannabis flower.
Since 2025, cannabis flower may only be dispensed to holders of a PT33 prescription, issued by a doctor, a Thai traditional medicine practitioner, or another practitioner authorized by law. The form states the quantity you may receive and the duration of use.
This route is open to tourists. Visitors can buy cannabis legally in Thailand under the medical framework by following the same steps as residents, and at the dispensary your passport works as your ID.
Getting your PT33, step by step
Consult a licensed Thai practitioner
Get an assessment from a doctor, Thai traditional medicine practitioner, or another licensed practitioner to determine whether medical cannabis is suitable for you. Clinics across Bangkok offer same-day consultations.

Receive your prescription (form PT33)
If the practitioner considers it appropriate, they issue a prescription on form PT33 stating the quantity and duration of use. A prescription is valid for up to 30 days, so plan to visit a dispensary within that window.
Bring the right documents
You need two documents: your PT33 prescription and your passport (or Thai ID card). We check both on every visit, and no purchase can happen without them.
Visit the dispensary in person
At the counter, our on-site practitioner checks your documents, dispenses the product per your prescription, records the dispensing as required by law, and walks you through safe use. There is no webshop and no menu online; every purchase happens at the counter.

Use responsibly and keep it in Thailand
Smoking cannabis in public places is treated as a public nuisance under Thai law and carries penalties, and consumption is not allowed on our premises. Use only in private, following your practitioner's guidance. Never take cannabis across international borders when you leave; finish or dispose of any product before departure.
Good to know before you go
You must be 20 years of age or older. Thai law prohibits sales to anyone under 20, to pregnant women, and to breastfeeding women. We check an ID card or passport on every visit.
Every clinic runs its own consultation process and sets its own fee, so check the details directly with the clinic before you go.
